Depending on environment and tasks that will be performed, Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is or might be necessary. In order to ensure that the face piece selected is able to provide adequate protection for a particular individual, tight-fitting RPE must be fit tested, to prevent inward leaks caused by Ill-fitting face pieces.
United Safety performs quantitative fit testing, which uses a machine to measure leakage rather than relying on the user’s sense of taste, smell, or irritation in order to detect leakage. Quantitative fit testing is appropriate for any type of tight-fitting respirator.
United Safety can organize fit testing at the project location, at a contractor’s office or at our own facilities.
