United Safety’s Hazardous Gas Safety Specialist is experienced in providing safety supervision onsite where the possibility of having a hazardous/Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) environment exists. Gases such as Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and combustibles are encountered in these environments. Like all United Safety personnel, the Hazardous Gas Safety Specialist has a strong sense of safety culture.
The Hazardous Gas Safety Specialist understands legislation, ERPs, safe work procedures, and codes of practice and accordingly ensures all safety requirements are put into practice onsite.
The duties of the Hazardous Gas Safety Specialist include:
- Critical activity safety monitoring
- Lease control
- Orientation
- Fit testing
- Onsite crew training
- Conduct safety meeting
- Emergency drills and search & rescue coordination
- Breathing air and gas monitoring equipment installation and maintenance
