High quality air system to reduce work interruptions

Provided high quality air system to reduce work interruptions and streamline bottle monitoring during a Turnaround. Implemented a High Pressure Breathing Air to eliminate breathing air logistical challenges.

Challenge:
Eliminate logistical challenges and risk related to breathing air delivery and refilling systems while improving inventory management.

Solution:
High Pressure Air System, leadership personnel to guide end-users and a dispatch system to ensure efficient equipment utilization.

Results:
Overall a very successful turnaround with reduced incident rates and logistic issues.

Ultra Lite™ flyer

Compact, portable, no CDL required – the Ultra Lite™ is a stackable breathing air system that weighs below the commercial standard of 1001 pounds but still produces 3000 cubic feet of air. Its smaller footprint allows it to be transported in the bed of a ½ ton pickup truck reducing logistical challenges and delivery costs. It allows customers to enjoy unmatched mobility without additional issues like on and off loading with a forklift involved.

Stewardship Report™ Differentiator

The Stewardship Report™ serves as a tool to capture learnings for the next turnaround. It is also part of our internal program designed to measure United Safety’s performance against the agreed to expectations that are set out by our client.

Project Billing Differentiator

United Safety’s Onsite Finance Administrators play a critical role in ensuring that United Safety controls its costs and that we communicate accurate and timely invoicing to our client.

Rescue Planning Operations for Vertical Column Work

United Safety developed safe work practices and performed rescue planning operations for vertical column work as part of the turnaround activities in an offshore platform in Angola. We also developed a confined space simulator to ensure all team members were trained in proper entry and rescue procedures.

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Flyer

When it comes to safety, prevention is better than cure. Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is a proactive process carried on by a team of engineers, operators, technicians, and safety personnel to systematically assess and mitigate potential hazards in an industrial work environment. Risks are involved in preparing facilities for start-up, normal operation and expansions, and PHAs are an effective means of identifying and minimizing these risks.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Flyer

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling is the most accurate process modeling tool available and is widely trusted and experimentally validated across numerous industries. Going beyond basic empirical models, High Performance Computing (HPC) is used to iteratively solve principal equations related to fluid flows, thermodynamics, heat transfer and other physical phenomena over a finite computational grid, known as a mesh. The mesh and equations are computationally solved to obtain high levels of detail and scientific accuracy for real world problems.

Ultrasonic Anemometer

Fast response, high resolution and three-dimensional wind measurement.

SiteCourier™ Differentiator

The SiteCourier™ dispatch system is a unique and innovative way to deliver safety resources during a turnaround or shutdown. SiteCourier™ delivers the safety resources to craft labour and fetches it back when the job is finished reducing lost tool time incurred when workers walk to a central hub to pick up and drop off safety resources.

QCycle™ Differentiator

This proprietary QA/QC process called QCycle™ consisting of a mobile onsite QA/QC system which can turnaround used equipment quickly for re-deployment. QCycle™ focusses on efficiency and reducing time spent in Stage 3 by speeding up the field maintenance process.

Needs Assessment Differentiator

The Needs Assessment is a process used to review the work with key plant management stakeholders prior to all turnarounds. Our real goal during a Needs Assessment is becoming a fellow committed stakeholder in the future success of the project.

Development of 16 Safe Work Practices

Develop 16 Safe Work Practices and create a corporate portal site for document sharing and project progress communication

United Safety wrote, administered and developed 16 selected Safe Work Practices with a comprehensive dossier and created a Sharepoint portal to share all information and updates with the client, ensuring better understanding and established new base for SWP.

Managing cleaning, testing and re-inventory of safety equipment.

In order to plan and manage cleaning, testing and effective re-inventory of safety equipment during a major 60-day maintenance turnaround with over 3500 contractors United Safety provided a mobile QA/QC facility, ensuring interruption-free access to well-maintained safety resources and reducing equipment rentals by 30 percent.

Effective cost control during turnarounds through daily billing and status updates

Client faced a major issue with cost control, back billing, delayed invoicing and inflated equipment rental expenses during past TAs. We provided an Onsite Financial Controller to communicate on a daily basis with client’s financial team, delivering timely billing and cost control.
