In 2012, the Holiday Train came through Airdrie (on a very, very cold day!). This is a program run by Canadian Pacific Railways in conjunction with food banks across the country.

Canadians brave the cold to meet the Holiday Train and bring food donations

Every year, the train stops at various towns across Canada; one of the boxcars has been turned into a travelling stage for performers. At each stop, the train picks up food donations and musicians will play more than 150 free concerts during the train’s journey across the country. United Safety was the major sponsor for this event and a number of employees volunteered, braving the bitter weather.
