United Safety inspires safety behavior and knowledge transfer among Petroleum Engineers

Karim Sabet, United Safety’s Business Development Manager presents how the company has encouraged its customers to use social marketing to influence safety behavior and practice knowledge capture and transfer at the Society of Petroleum Engineer’s Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia on October 22-24, 2013.

Dubai, UAE – November 4, 2013 – United Safety’s Karim Sabet, Business Development Manager for Africa recently presented two technical papers at the Society of Petroleum Engineer’s Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia.

SPE members and Oil and Gas professionals engaged Sabet on the challenges organizations face in capturing and transferring knowledge from plant shutdowns and turnarounds to improve EH&S practices. In another technical presentation, participants exchanged ideas with Sabet on the importance of understanding real human behavior as an integral part of safety programs.

We are seeing a shift towards understanding attitudes and behaviours of workers as a means of setting up safety behavior. There was a clear interest in how social marketing campaigns make employees more aware of safety hazards and issues. Both presentations were linked through human behaviour and the crowd actively engaged to know about lessons learnt in that regard,” states Sabet.

Since 1987, United Safety has worked hard to become a global leader in providing specialized safety equipment, personnel and services to various customers across the globe. They have operations in the Americas, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia.
