United Safety’s article “Innovative Vehicles Ensure Safety While Transiting Through Red Zones” is featured in HSE Now this month.
Red zones are high-risk areas with an increased likelihood of immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) atmosphere, due to the presence of toxic or flammable gases.
Despite the hazards, operations in red zones must go on, and maintenance must be carried out. In addition, there is also potential for accidents.
A major challenge is ensuring that people transiting through or working in these red zones remain safe at all times. Solutions like gas detection and breathing equipment have evolved in the past 20 years, but they still have limitation such as range, capacity and mobility. Continue Reading
