Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – On November 10, 2013, United Safety launched the Oil and Gas industry’s first Vehicle Gas Protection System – the Air Qruise™ at ADIPEC 2013.

With Oil and Gas activities progressing into increasingly challenging environments, the Air Qruise™ fills an industry gap and ensures that in the event of a gas leak, every aspect of a person’s safe evacuation from a toxic gas release site is in place.

The Air Qruise™ makes the Oil and Gas industry a lot safer. It is truly redefining safety and is a game changer for the industry,” says Dr. Elie Daher, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer for United Safety.

The Air Qruise™ integrates state-of-the-art gas detection electronics, a highly compact air supply system and rapid deployment breathing masks. This unique combination ensures that the vehicle’s occupants are immediately alerted to a gas leak while being supplied with breathing air and transported out of the toxic release site.

Other key features of this patented system include a fully integrated toxic gas detection alarm and recording system, a highly visible touch screen interface that provides instant reporting of vital information and an air mask configuration that ensures rapid deployment of air masks in the event of sudden exposure to toxic gas. All systems exceed NIOSH air flow specifications and can be easily customized to various vehicle configurations.

The launching was led by the Al Hosn Gas CEO Saif Ahmed Al Ghafli, the first company to make use of the Air Qruise™ for its Shah Gas Field. The Shah Sour Gas Development Project recently won the “2013 Project of the Year Award” for its high HSE and sustainable development standards.
