In preparation for the upcoming offshore exploration round, H.E. Gebran Bassil, Lebanon\u2019s Minister of Energy and Water discusses safety issues with Dr. Elie Daher, Executive Vice President for United Safety at the Lebanon International Oil and Gas Summit in Beirut. <\/em><\/p>\n

On December 4-5, 2013, United Safety will be leading the discussion on Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) at the Lebanon International Oil and Gas Summit<\/a> in Beirut, Lebanon.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s summit coincides with the expected start of the negotiations on Exploration and Production Agreements in Lebanon. As such, all eyes are on Lebanon and the East Mediterranean for investment opportunities. <\/p>\n

Participating companies will receive updates on the Lebanon oil and gas industry including the state of its infrastructure and supply chain, banking and insurance, legal issues, and local content sourcing.<\/p>\n

For its part, United Safety will focus on the importance of achieving Operational Excellence (OE) in driving operation integrity and safety performance.<\/p>\n

To help customers achieve OE, United Safety designed a new service offering called Operational Service and Integrity Management Services (OSIMS\u2122)<\/a> that allows Oil and Gas leaders to confidently say and prove that their assets are running safely, reliably, sustainably, and cost effectively.<\/p>\n

Daher will emphasize the need to learn from the industry’s failures and best practices. He will also talk about how regulators, operators and contractors can lead the way in going beyond the traditional event-based model of improvement towards long-term change in safety culture. <\/p>\n

\u201cOperational Excellence creates value through systematic and repeatable actions that become incorporated into the corporate culture and determine \u2018the way things are done\u2019 within the organization. A young industry such as Lebanon\u2019s will definitely benefit from this discussion,\u201d stated Dr. Daher.<\/p>\n

The summit is expected to attract 450 key decision makers from 25 countries representing 150 local and international companies and organizations, including major international oil companies (IOCs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
