In February this year, Export Development Canada (EDC), the State-owned export credit agency provided C$750 million ($553 million) in emergency loans to small and medium-sized oil and gas companies in a bid to help the industry survive the current downturn.

On March 2016 The Roughneck magazine published an interview with Shayne McCallum, Vice President Canada at United Safety. The interview covers United Safety’s origins and the reasons why it was founded: the oil and gas industry was in need of a comprehensive solution, from wellhead to retail, and positioned its service offerings to include gas explorers, producers and process operators, thus providing a single standard of safety for all personnel on a given site. Shayne also discussed how United Safety has been growing for the past 29 years, and the areas we currently operate in now, he said “With an eye on market growth and the careful consideration of the particularities and cultural differences in each country, we were able to achieve sustainable growth.”  

Innovations abound at the Peace Region Petroleum Show May 2015

This biennial event will attract hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of participants to Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada on May 13-14. Under the theme “where energy creates opportunity”, the show offers attendees a chance to make contacts, exchange knowledge and discover the latest in Oil and Gas technology.  

Join United Safety at BANFF PSC 2015 Apr 2015

United Safety will be back at the Banff Petroleum Safety Conference for its 2015 edition. This hallmark event has 60 years of history in promoting health and safety within the oil and gas industry in western Canada.

The Airdrie office participates in the two Airdrie parades, the Canada Day parade and the Santa Parade, in an effort to raise community awareness on safety.

In 2012, the Holiday Train came through Airdrie (on a very, very cold day!). This is a program run by Canadian Pacific Railways in conjunction with food banks across the country.

On April 2, 2002 we visited the Malembo Orphanage in Cabinda to build a bridge between our institutions. For us, the goal was to find motivated and knowledgeable young men and women ready to join our ranks.
