Dubai, UAE – On November 25-29, 2013 United Safety’s Karim Sabet, Business Development Manager for Africa attended the 20th Africa Oil Week Conference at Cape Town, South Africa. The event was attended by over 1,500 delegates with more than 80 presentations and discussions among government ministers and state/African Oil Company players.
Africa’s oil and gas industry remains one of the fast growing in the world. Companies such as BP, Shell, Exxon, Statoil, Tullow Oil, Africa Oil, Cairn Energy, PetroSA, Schlumberger, PetroSeychelles including national oil companies and regulators were well represented at the conference.
“The conference was extremely valuable in bringing executives and decision makers from around the world, under one roof to discuss the growing potential of Africa’s oil and gas industry. Companies already operating in the continent are growing their footprint while others are aggressively seeking partnerships and deals with existing smaller independent companies,” reports Karim Sabet.
At the conference, industry leaders discussed the growth potential of Nigeria and Angola in Sub-Saharan Africa while investments are being poured to develop the Oil and Gas industry in East African countries such as Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Morocco also emerged as an important player in the offshore sector.
